"We drove one hour from home in our car, a Ford from the 1970’s. The beaches here are beautiful. We are always looking for places around the sea or the mountain to take pictures and build a shelter, sleep around the fire, get naked and swim - just to be in nature with friends."

Go:  Stroll down the Cayeux-sur-Mer Boardwalk, lined with colorful beach huts.

Stay:  Book a room at the Hidden Bay Hotel, which is only 200 meters from the beach and holds regular jazz concerts on the property.

Eat:  Head to Au Petit Café, an emblem of 1920s Picardy architecture that resembles a traditional Parisian brasserie, on the ground floor of the Hidden Bay Hotel. Order locally harvested seafood.

Drink:  Picon Vin Blanc, made with white wine and Picon bitters (from orange peel and spices), is a local favorite.
