"Here in Oslo we are so lucky to have the beautiful Scandinavian forest right on the outskirts of town. It takes only a short bus ride to get away from everyday life in the city. My boyfriend and I love to escape into the peacefulness of these woods. As the summer comes to an end, we often go camping to this secluded place. We have a secret spot where we set up our tent, with a panoramic view of the lake. I woke up early, the sun was shining and there was that fresh autumn air, announcing the change of season. I wanted to capture that moment, and since my boyfriend was still sleeping, I perched my camera in a tree nearby to take some photos as I ventured out into the cold water of the lake."

Go: Take a bus from the city that goes to Maridalen, from there it’s a nice hike through the forest. Follow the trail that leads to Bjørnholt. Once you get there and have set up camp, you can rent a canoe and go fishing on the lake as the sun sets.
Stay: Get a taste of the city before heading into the forest. First, book a room at The Thief, a contemporary art and design hotel in Oslo that looks out onto the fjord (be sure ask for a sea view). Then, escape to Bear Lake - bring a tent and set up camp nearby the shore.
Eat: Bring food to cook on a campfire, or maybe you’ll be lucky and catch some fish in the lake. For dessert, buy Norwegian waffles with jam at the little café in a nearby cabin.
Drink: Bring a few cans of beer to enjoy after the refreshing swim and fill your water bottle with fresh water from the waterfall.
