" This was the first time my friend Danielle Redman and I had hung out. We met a few weeks prior in Miami on a job and got along really well and I wanted to photograph her. The weather was warm, so I asked if she’d want to go on a little road trip to find a cool swimming hole and waterfall and we did just that. We looked at maps and drove for a few hours until we stumbled upon a spot we had to search for by coordinates. I don’t think we even realized that we were in Connecticut. We parked and hiked down this crazy hill, and saw the beautiful waterfall totally unoccupied in front of us. We got so excited and both jumped in totally naked! It was freezing!"

Go:  Utilize the power of the Internet with Google Maps, Yelp, and swimmingholes.org to find magical little spots to explore.

Stay:  This area is only two hours from New York City – find a bed at the New York Loft Hostel to see what Brooklyn has to offer before day tripping to search for swimming holes.

Eat:  Stop at an old-school diner for burgers and shakes on the way back to the city.

Drink:  Lots of water! It’s important to stay hydrated while adventuring in off-the-grid places.
